The General Administration of Customs released relevant statistics. In the first half of 2026, China’s total import and export volume of goods reached 25.47 trillion RMB, hitting a record high for the same period. Exports of the "New Three Products" — new energy vehicles, lithium batteries and photovoltaic products — maintained rapid growth. Exports of industrial robots, smart medical equipment and other "Emerging Three Products" achieved remarkable growth.
In terms of market structure, private enterprises remain the main force of foreign trade. Imports and exports with Belt and Road partner countries registered steady growth. Industry analysts point out that an increasing number of foreign trade enterprises are avoiding risks brought by over-reliance on a single market and accelerating layout in emerging markets including the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Insiders remind exporters that market access regulations worldwide are tightening continuously. Enterprises shall conduct advance self-inspections on certification, labeling and environmental rules to lower customs clearance risks.
